When you create an account, we collect:

- Household membership information
Financial Data
To provide our budgeting services, we collect:
- Income information you enter
- Budget categories and allocations
- Transaction records (manual entries)
- Bank transaction data (if you connect a bank account via Plaid or Monzo)
Device Information
We collect device tokens for push notifications and basic device information for app functionality.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the app's budgeting features
- Sync data across household members
- Send push notifications (planning reminders, purchase requests)
- Improve and develop new features
- Provide customer support
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. We implement the following security measures:
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit)
- Row-level security ensures you can only access your own household's data
- Authentication is handled securely via Apple Sign In
- We do not sell or share your personal financial data with third parties
Bank Connections
If you choose to connect your bank account:
- Plaid: We use Plaid to securely connect to your bank. Plaid's privacy policy applies to data they process. We receive transaction data but never your bank login credentials.
- Monzo: Direct integration via Monzo's API. We only access transaction data you authorise.
Bank connections are optional. You can use the app with manual transaction entry only.
Household Data Sharing
When you join a household, other members of that household can see:
- Shared budget categories and balances
- Transactions assigned to shared categories
- Purchase requests and their status
- Your display name
This sharing is fundamental to how the app works for family budget management.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed. Household data may be retained if other members remain in the household.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Export your data
- Opt out of non-essential notifications

Children's Privacy
Finance Plan 1 is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
