By downloading, installing, or using Finance Plan 1 ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Finance Plan 1 is a personal finance management application designed to help households plan and track their budgets. The App allows you to:

  • Create and manage weekly budgets
  • Track income and expenses
  • Share financial planning with household members
  • Connect bank accounts for transaction import (optional)
  • Request and approve purchases within your household

3. Account Registration

To use the App, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Household Sharing

The App allows you to invite others to join your household. By inviting someone:

  • You grant them access to view and interact with shared household financial data
  • You acknowledge they may create, modify, or delete shared budget information
  • You are responsible for managing who has access to your household

Each household member is responsible for their own actions within the App.

5. Financial Information Disclaimer

Important: Finance Plan 1 is a budgeting tool, not a financial advisor. The App:

  • Does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice
  • Is not a substitute for professional financial guidance
  • Should not be relied upon for financial decisions

You are solely responsible for your financial decisions. Always consult qualified professionals for financial advice.

6. Bank Connections

If you choose to connect your bank account via Plaid or Monzo:

  • You authorise us to access your transaction data through these services
  • Third-party terms and privacy policies apply
  • We are not responsible for the accuracy of data provided by your bank
  • You can disconnect your bank at any time

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any illegal purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or households
  • Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
  • Use automated systems to access the App
  • Share your account credentials with others

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Finance Plan 1 and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

9. Data Accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter into the App. We do not guarantee the accuracy of:

  • Bank transaction data imported via third-party services
  • Calculations based on data you provide
  • Any financial summaries or reports generated by the App

10. Service Availability

We strive to keep the App available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may:

  • Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability
  • Modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
  • Suspend accounts that violate these terms

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any financial losses based on App usage
  • We are not liable for data loss, though we take reasonable precautions
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Finance Plan 1 from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify you of significant changes.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom.
